Strategy

We at Daylight have the skills, forward thinking and technical depth required to work with you in developing your long term plans. We specialise in Information Management and Knowledge Management strategy development.

We will develop a plan with you that will determine:
a) where you are now,
b) where you want to be, and
c) how you will get there.

Our philosophy for plans is that they be flexible, and fit for purpose. We can also work with you to qualify and quantify your strategy using our own Business Case process.

PRA Readiness Review

PRA compliance is much more than simply getting physical records in order and implementing an Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS). This will go part of the way to making your agency compliant. In many cases, the bigger problems lie in records outside of these two repositories.

Daylight works with local bodies and government agencies, helping them devise strategies to ensure compliance with the Public Records Act 2005.

We can provide the expertise required to ensure that organisations' recordkeeping policies and procedures are compliant with Archives New Zealand standards. With the upcoming audits scheduled for 2010 onwards, compliance with the PRA is becoming an area of increasing focus.

Daylight's people can engage with your records team, IT department and business users, to increase understanding of PRA compliance, and to design and implement a roadmap to ensure compliance now, and into the future.

We have created a framework that allows us to quickly determine an agency's current state that is then measured against the PRA's mandatory requirements, that ultimately produces a roadmap to achieve compliance. Used in conjunction with Archives New Zealand's self audit tool, our framework provides a comprehensive assessment so the agency can have full confidence that all areas of the PRA are addressed. This review can be undertaken very quickly and the resulting report details those necessary workstreams that make up the roadmap.

We also take the approach that while compliance is one goal, that improving the integrity of an organisation's records is another. Implementation of such a roadmap should also improve people's execution of their role within the organisation.  

Project and Programme Management

Daylight brings the discipline and structure required to successfully manage the range from individual projects through a programme of work; this being a number of projects with a common goal within an organisation.

We manage to an agreed outcome in a controlled fashion. We like neither giving nor getting surprises, and work with our clients to ensure the project or programme meets expectations.

We are also seasoned and qualified project managers. We are practitioners in a number of industry-wide methodologies including ITIL, Prince or PMI, or we can work with your own internal methodology to successfully manage your project. 

If you specifically require a non-standard methodology, we can work with you to develop your own set, tailor-made for your organisation or industry. 

Analysis

Good analysis requires an understanding of the bigger picture. This involves a clear view of what you as the client does, and your needs and objectives (at a departmental or organisational level) are important. We can then undertake the analysis to a level that is relevant to further progress the appropriate solutions. Equally, we are skilled at performing a succinct analysis.

Our people can also assist in the assessment and/or validation of solutions.

Business Process Improvement (BPI)

Our team uses a considered and systematic approach to BPI, which is the significant change to how something is done (at role, department or organisational level).

We undertake the analysis and defining of the required change through planning for and implementing the realignment. At all times this is in conjunction with the client, with clear communication to affected/interested parties.

Training

Daylight offers full training services in any of the applications or solutions we implement and support.

In addition, we can provide specific training for your organisation in any systems and Applications. We can also develop all training collateral that you require.

Our team is experienced at delivering training courses at both the individual level through to organisation-wide teaching.
